European Commision will join Lodzkie of Energy
Kurt Vandenberghe comes from Belgium. He studied at John Hopkins University. Since July 2013 he is a Director for Climate Action and Resource Efficiency at the European Commission's DG Research and Innovation. Previously, Kurt Vandenberghe was a deputy head of the cabinet of Janez Potočnik, European Commissioner for Research and Development. He is in charge of coordinating the research area and the EU research framework programme. Kurt joined the European Commission in 1996 as a coordinator of the Commission’s Intermodal Transport Task Force and of the Transport Research Programme. He subsequently was a coordinator of DG Transport’s relations with the European Parliament, the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of Regions.

Kurt Vandenberghe viene de Bélgica. Estudió en la Universidad John Hopkins. Desde julio 2013 es el Director de Acción Climático y Eficiencia de Recursos de la Dirección General de Investigación e Innovación de la Comisión Europea. Anteriormente, era un jefe adjunto del gabinete de Janez Potocnik, Comisario Europeo de Investigación y Desarrollo. Es el encargado de coordinar el área de investigación y el programa marco de investigación de la UE. Kurt se unió a la Comisión Europea en 1996 como coordinador del Grupo de Trabajo de Transporte Intermodal de la Comisión y del Programa de Investigación del Transporte. Posteriormente, fue coordinador de las relaciones de la Dirección General de Transporte con el Parlamento Europeo, al Comité Económico y Social y al Comité de las Regiones.

Avant, il a servi comme chef de cabinet adjoint du commissaire Janez Potočnik, le commissaire européen pour la recherche et le développement. Là, il était responsable de la coordination de la zone d'étude, ainsi que le Programme-cadre de recherche.
Sa carrière à la Commission Européenne a commencé en 1996 comme le coordinateur du Comité de Transport Intermodal Pour des Missions Spéciales. Il a également coordonné la recherche sur le transport.
